Cesar Gonzalez - Program Designer


Cesar Gonzalez graduated from Texas State University in 2015 with a degree in Music Education. While at Texas State, Cesar performed with the Bobcat Marching Band as well as with the Texas State Wind Symphony where he was principal percussionist for several semesters. Cesar was a member of The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012 and 2013. He was also a member of Imperial Percussion Theater from Houston, TX in 2012, and was the ensemble captain in 2013. His final indoor season was spent as snare section leader for Teatro Indoor Percussion from Austin, TX in 2014.


Cesar is an active arranger and designer for schools in central and south Texas. He has worked with many band and indoor percussion programs including Thomas Jefferson High School, Luther Burbank High School, Gladys Porter High School, McCollum High School, Temple High School, Clear Creek High School, Sandra Day O’Connor High School and Douglas MacArthur High School.


Cesar is currently in his fifth year as Percussion Director at Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, TX. He also spent the 2016 and 2017 DCI seasons as snare instructor for Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps. Cesar has been involved with Violet Crown Independent since the birth of the organization in 2017 where he served as a visual instructor. In 2018 he took over the position of Ensemble Director as well as both Visual and Music Designer.
